Quoreca Origin
Know whether your export qualifies, and why.
Rules-of-origin checks for Indian exporters: a clear result, the reason in plain English, and the origin paperwork with a permanent record.
Why it matters now
The India–UK CETA is in force. The origin claim is the exporter's.
- In force since 15 July 2026. The India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement.
- The exporter declares. A UK importer can claim the agreement's preferential duty on an origin declaration completed by the Indian exporter, among other routes.
- Self-certified. Indian exporters self-certify those declarations after a one-time registration on the DGFT digital platform.
- The decision is yours. It turns on the HS code, the product-specific rule, where each material comes from, what it is worth, and what processing happens in India.
- Origin works it through for every product, and keeps the evidence.
How it works
From product to paperwork, with the reasoning kept.
Describe the product once
Its ITC-HS code and price, then each material: HS code, value per unit and where it comes from. Tick the processing that actually happens in your factory.
Run a check
Origin tests the published rule for your code: change in tariff classification, value content on an ex-works or FOB basis, the agreement's tolerances, and operations that never confer origin. Materials of unknown origin count as non-originating, so the answer errs on the side of caution.
Read a plain-English result
Qualifies, Does not qualify or Needs specialist review, with each condition ticked or crossed, and what would change the result.
Prepare the shipment
Add products that hold a valid qualifying check, answer the transport questions, and generate the origin document from the agreement's published wording. Validity dates follow the agreement's own terms.
Keep the record
Each check stores the rule version, the engine version and a full copy of what you entered. Documents cannot be edited, carry a SHA-256 fingerprint and link back to their check. An audit log records every change.
Where the rules come from
Official texts, entered and reviewed by specialists.
Verbatim rule text
Product-specific rules, tolerances and document wording are taken from the agreement's official text by a Quoreca origin specialist, with the annex reference kept alongside. Nothing is generated or written from memory.
Draft, review, publish
Each rule is reviewed in the staff console before it is published, and every version is kept. A check always records which version it used.
Specialist review
Results a machine should not settle alone, such as wholly-obtained claims or specific-process rules, are flagged for review. Specialist-reviewed results are marked as such.
Agreements
Origin starts with the India–UK CETA. The India–EU FTA has been concluded but is not yet in force; Origin is built to switch it on when it is.
Origin supports your decision; responsibility for an origin claim stays with the exporter. Results are only as accurate as the product and material details entered.
